Legend has it, that at the end of the western desert, there lies a beautiful and rich country. This fabled land, is where Valir comes from. He was known to have been the prince of this country, the son of Flames, the great wielder of fire. The Valley of Winds is a neighbouring kingdom of Fire Throat. Valir's father and the king of Valley of Winds were close friends, since their childhood and so where his son, Vale and Valir. But unfortunately, misjudgment and false conspiracies, led to the death of Flames, which was more painfully from the hands of Vale's father. Valir was there, along with Vale, when his father was murdered. Valir was grieved and he tried to fight the king of wind, but to his surprise, he was knocked off his feets, due to a wind tornado, summoned by his very own friend. Vale painfully, bid goodbye to his best friend, advising him to flea the lands and never come back. Valir had no choice but to leave. He ventured into the Land of Dawn in order to learn to control his powers, so he could later on have his revenge. That's when he came across the Magic Academy of Ursula and realised, that this was the perfect place for him to start. From his very first day at the Magic academy, Valir's extraordinary control over the arcane was clear for all to see. Gord, who was teaching arcane arts at the time, saw a little of himself in Valir, and began to teach the most coveted secrets of the arcane to his inquisitive pupil. However, Gord came to regret his actions, disturbed by the negative energy that began to radiate from Valir and his violent tendencies. Eventually, Valir started combining the ancient flame spells from his desert homeland with arcane power to create a unique form of arcane flame magic. Gord felt he had betrayed himself, allowing his pure arcane wisdom to be tarnished by these wild flames from an unknown land. Enraged, Gord attempted to remove the power of flame from Valir's body. Valir resisted with all his might, and half of the academy was destroyed in the ensuing battle. At the end of the fracas, Gord was left feeling somewhat proud that Valir's arcane flame magic could hold up against his own pure arcane power. In the end, Valir left the academy in order to seek out his revenge on the Valley of Wind, and Gord began working on creating a flying machine fueled by arcane energy, intent on searching the world for a new apprentice and putting a stop to Valir.
